Choose The Right Coating
Galvanized
Galvanized wire is zinc coated to resist rust and corrosion and will last longer than uncoated wire Common coating include: Commercial, Class 1 and Class 3. The higher the coating weight, the longer the expected resistance to rust and corrosion

Vinyl Coated
Vinyl coated fence is first galvanized and then vinyl coated for additional protection against corrosion, as well as adding a more aesthetic appearance.

Painted
Painted fence products offer an economic alternative when project longevity is not primary concern. Painted fence products are typically not galvanized, and include items such as studded T-posts and U-posts. Paint provides a minimum protective coating over steel, while offering a different appearance than galvanized or vinyl coated products

Select The Right Mesh
Fence wires are woven or welded into uniform patterns called meshed. Choosing the correct mesh or spacing of the fence wires is critical. To determine the optimal gauge and mesh for your project, be sure toconsider: (1) What you will enclose, and (2) How flexible or inflexible(rigid) the fence needs to be.
A basic rule of thumb is, the larger the animial, the larger the mesh and the more rigid the fence should be. The opposite is true for smaller animals
